Rangers fans were left unimpressed by Tom Lawrence's performance in their 2-1 win over Motherwell.

The 30-year-old failed to have a single shot on goal or even create a chance before being subbed off in the 56th minute as the Glasgow giants secured their first win of the season.

Rangers started their 2024-25 campaign with a disappointing goalless draw against Hearts, but Philippe Clement’s men got back on track immediately in an impressive performance.

Lawrence had a whirlwind start to life at Rangers, scoring three goals in just nine appearances after joining the club from Derby County in January 2022.

The attacking midfielder has since failed to live up to the hype and only scored the same number of goals across 32 appearances in his first full season at the club last year.

One player who has seemingly turned it around at Rangers is striker Cyriel Dessers.

Tom Lawrence needs to step it up at Rangers

With Todd Cantwell and Ianis Hagi both relegated to the Rangers B team after being told to find a new club, Lawrence is now the club's first choice number ten.

If he is going to remain as such he will have to improve as Rangers seek to wrestle the title away from arch-rivals Celtic.

Fans flocked to social media to lament yet another 'poor' performance from the Welshman.
