Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to annihilate Lee Hodson for his performance in the 2-1 loss to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday afternoon.

Hodson, 26, was named to earn a rare start in Graeme Murty’s first team selection as the proper Gers manager, but judging by the fans’ reactions to his display against Killie, that could have been the wrong decision.

The Northern Ireland international started at left-back, allowing Declan John to start in a more advanced position on the left-wing which resulted in the Welshman scoring the first goal on Saturday.

Although John was thoroughly impressive, his replacement at left-back Hodson was simply not good enough according to those who watched on.

One supporter even claimed that the Northern Irish defender was the “weak link” in Murty’s side at Rugby Park.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Hodson has made just eight appearances across all competitions for Rangers this season and is widely seen as the third choice at left-back and second choice at right-back due to his ability to play on both sides.

The former Watford defender may struggle even more for game time when Lee Wallace finally returns from injury in the near future with James Tavernier nailed on to start at right-back every week.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has slammed the Light Blues for their decision to give this man a deal.
