Rangers fans getting 'jittery' as Michael Beale fights to save his job - expert
Rangers need to push past the "outside noise" if they want to start getting results.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Gers defender Alan Hutton urged the players to "come together" to get through the current "rough period".
The Gers have had to endured a difficult spell following their Champions League exit and subsequent defeat to Celtic with uncertainty growing around Michael Beale's future.
On 8 September, Football Insider revealed that the Light Blues have a strong interest in former Chelsea boss Graham Potter and have tentatively sounded him out as a potential replacement for Beale.
The Ibrox board have been unconvinced by Beale since he took over last year and the pressure has intensified in recent weeks.
Beale's side face St Johnstone on Saturday (16 September) where they will be looking to get back to winning ways.
But Hutton insisted it won't be an easy game.
"They showed that they can go to Celtic Park and make it very difficult so at home they are going to do the exact same thing," he told Football Insider.
"They will know that if they can keep that Rangers team quiet for the first 15, 20 minutes the crowd might get a little bit jittery and it could then become difficult to play.
"That will be their outlook on the game, let's try and frustrate them and it will be up to Rangers to try and break them down. It is always difficult especially when there is a lot of noise to deal with outside.
"It is one of those ones that the manager and the players are going to have to come together and get through that rough period."
