Rangers fans have turned on their board once again after Sam Lammers' "ridiculous" weekly wages were revealed amid transfer talks.

Reports claimed that Utrecht have walked away from a deal to sign the forward as he would not take a pay cut from his £24,000 per-week wage.

Lammers spent the second half of last season on loan at the Eredivisie club and scored ten goals in 18 league games as well as providing three assists.

His form meant many expected the 27-year-old to depart Ibrox this summer, but his high wages have made a move more difficult.

As a result, fans have hit out at the board and former boss Michael Beale for agreeing to the terms on his current deal.

Rangers are in a difficult financial position and will need to sell players so that they can reinvest, but with players on big contracts, moving them on has become an issue.

Lammers joined the Glasgow club last summer in a deal worth £3.5million.

Fans labelled the deal "a disaster" and "a disgrace" in the latest incident drawing criticism towards the board and management at Ibrox.
