'Has no place', 'Disaster' - Rangers fans react as talks for rookie boss reportedly start
Rangers fans on Twitter have given a mixed reaction to the news that Barry Ferguson is being lined up to be a part of the new Ibrox coaching set-up.
The Scottish Sun has reported that the Gers have started to go into in talks about making a move for Ferguson, 39, to be the new No 3 to Derek McInnes, who is expected to be approached by the Glasgow giants this week.
It is understood that Pedro Caixinha had previously snubbed Ferguson to become a part of his backroom staff after interviewing him, but now it seems that the former Rangers player is in line to make a “sensational” return to Ibrox.
And judging by the fans’ reaction on Twitter, it seems that the majority would prefer if if the ex-Clyde manager sticks away from the club.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Barry Ferguson is my all time favourite Ranger would love him at the club in any position don't get the negativity

Barry Ferguson has not only bad mouthed Rangers consistently for years, but fawned and sucked up to smellic, because he thinks this will make his opinions sound neutral and unbiased to his mhedia buddies. Yep, he’s that thick.
“Teirney is worth £30m+”
He really did say that.

I would be very surprised if Barry Ferguson was part of our new backroom staff.

Not convinced that Barry Ferguson would be a good option as an assistant. Right now, I’d have Graeme Murty in front of the queue to be part of the new @RangersFC coaching set-up.

Announce Barry Ferguson has nothing to do with the new management set up. PLEASE

I don't want Barry Ferguson in the #Rangers coaching set up. Don't want plating legends damaging their reputation by being involved with management

Barry Ferguson loves our club, the best captain we've had in the last 15 years, any fans slating him really need to think about what's he's done and how he feels about our club. Would love to see him back.
