Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is reportedly on the radar of Premier League side West Brom and Rangers fans on Twitter believe the ex-Gers midfielder would pick a return to the Hawthorns over Ibrox.

The Scottish Sun claims in a development, that Tony Pulis’ sacking on Monday means Rangers could miss out in their pursuit of McInnes, 46, as the search for Pedro Caixinha’s permanent successor rumbles on.

McInnes spent five years as a player at Ibrox from 1995-2000 before moving south to join the Baggies where he made 100 appearances over three seasons.

McInnes has been the long-standing bookies’ favourite to replace Caixinha at Ibrox but has seen his odds drift in the last few days before Alex McLeish replaced him as the top choice.

Rangers fans seem to think the move for McInnes to return to West Brom is as good as done and, despite being the favourite to replace Caixinha for so long, don’t seem to mind – with one fan saying the Baggies are “welcome to him.”

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Graeme Murty has been in interim charge at Ibrox since Caixinha was dismissed on October 26th but fans are now getting impatient with the Rangers board’s dithering over making an appointment.

Murty suffered his first defeat since taking the reins on Saturday when the Gers lost 2-0 to Hamilton at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
