Rangers fans react on Twitter after drawing Celtic in Scottish Cup semi

By Will Butcher

Rangers fans have reacted in optimistic fashion on Twitter after drawing Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi finals of the Scottish Cup.

Graeme Murty’s side secured their place in the final four after demolishing Hamilton 6-0 thanks to a Joe Garner hat-trick, while Jon Toral, Martyn Waghorn and Clint Hill also scored.

The Gers revealed on their official Twitter account that they will face arch enemies Celtic at Hampden Park, with the tie set to be played on either the 22nd or 23rd of April.

The rivals are already set to meet on Sunday at Parkhead, as the Gers look to end a poor run of form against Brendan Rodgers’ side which has seen them lose all three meetings this season.

Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter to the draw, with many declaring themselves delighted that the Gers have been given the chance to halt Celtic’s potential treble.

The winner will play against either Hibernian or Aberdeen in the final, after Derek McInnes’ Dons saw off Partick while Hibs beat Ayr United.

The Gers will be hoping that they can see off Rodgers’ side in order to hold aloft the Scottish Cup for a huge 34th time, with the final set to be played on May 27.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are in negotiations to tie up a deal for this 22-year-old attacker.
