Rangers fans react on Twitter to confirmed Alves signing
By Derek Smithson
Rangers completed the signing of defender Bruno Alves on Wednesday – and the club’s supporters expressed their delight on social media with the deal.
The Gers confirmed on their official website that the 35-year-old has completed his switch to Ibrox to become Pedro Caixinha’s first signing of the summer window.
The Portugal international has agreed a two-year deal with the Scottish giants and has moved from Serie A club Cagliari.
He is a vastly experienced centre-back that should help bolster the backline, winning league titles in Portugal, Russia and Turkey during his career.
He also helped Portugal win the European Championships in 2016 and has 89 senior international caps.

Alves is expected to come straight into the Gers starting line-up and could well replace Clint Hill following his exit from Ibrox.
The defender was a regular in the Italian league last year and proved that he still has the quality despite his age.
Rangers will look to use his experience in their Europa League quest and hope that he can make a positive impact in their domestic league form as they look to improve on third.
In other Rangers transfer news, they are eyeing a 22-year-old defender from a top-flight club.
