Rangers fans react to Russell Martin performance v Aberdeen

Rangers defender Russell Martin made his debut for the Ibrox giants on Wednesday night when he was played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Norwich City captain joined the Gers on a season-long loan and started alongside David Bates in the heart of defence as the Gers returned to action after the winter break.
Martin had an impressive debut as he helped the Light Blues record their third consecutive clean-sheet for the first time since last April and dealt with any threat Aberdeen’s attack posed.
Fans were delighted with the 32-year-old’s performance in the win over Derek McInnes’ side after a fantastic performance from the Scotland international.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

The 32-year-old spent almost a decade with Norwich before heading for Ibrox last week but has immediately settled right in to his new environment and looked comfortable throughout the win over the Dons.
Martin has picked up 29 caps for Scotland but hasn’t featured for the national side since the 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Slovenia in March 2017.
With a number of Rangers defenders linked with imminent exits, Martin will almost certainly play a huge part for Graeme Murty’s side over the second-half of the season as they try to close down Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic.
In other Rangers news, fans have reacted after this midfield dynamo underwent a medical to complete his switch.
