Rangers fans react to major confirmed manager development

By Dominic Toner

Pedro Caixinha has been given permission to join Rangers from current club Al-Gharafa – and supporters were pleased with his imminent arrival on Twitter.

The Qatar club revealed on the personal Twitter account that they have got to an agreement with Rangers about the 46-year-old moving to the Scottish giants.

He is set to experience his first taste of Scottish football and takeover from caretaker over manager Graeme Murty, who replaced former boss Mark Warburton.

The Scottish Sun report that Caixinha will take up his new role with the Gers on Friday, but will not be in charge of the Old Firm clash against Celtic on Sunday.

Rangers fans were delighted at the prospect of the new managerial shake-up at their club and believe Caixinha will recieve a full support.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Caixinha looks set for his first major role in Europe and will be tasked with trying to help Rangers return to the top of Scottish football.

The Gers are currently enduring a difficult season on their return to the top-flight and are six points adrift of second-placed Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, they are a huge 33 points behind league leaders Celtic, who are unbeaten domestically this season.

Caixinha will hope he can be the man to bridge the gap to the top and may look to make considerable changes to his squad in the summer.

In other Rangers news, Charlie Nicholas believes they must make this tactical reshuffle against Celtic.
