Rangers fans were asked whether Graeme Murty should get a permanent long-term deal at the end of the season, and the results were surprising.
EstConsultancy, a solid source of Rangers news on Twitter, asked the question and got over 4,000 responses.
When the poll was done and dusted, 57% said no – a surprising result given what Murty has achieved since he took over from Pedro Caixinha.
Should Rangers appoint Murty as full time manager on a long term deal?
Interested to see how this goes.

Murty has got the Rangers side playing as a team and he’s made some pretty astute buys in January, adding Jamie Murphy, Russell Martin and Jason Cummings, among others.
He’s also signed Alfredo Morelos and Daniel Candeias to new deals, which suggests that the team is behind him.
The 3-2 loss against Celtic on Sunday was the closest Old Firm clash in years, and he’s got another crack at his bitter rivals in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
However, that isn’t enough for the majority of Rangers fans, with almost six out of ten not wanting to see him rewarded with a long-term contract.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t want him there beyond the summer – although that’s the case for some.
Others think he should be given a short-term contract out to see what he’s made of next season.
Here are the best reactions to the poll results:
A year rolling for me personally. The 3 year deal nonsense with Warbs/Caixinha wasn’t ideal. Barring a collapse or an outstanding candidate suddenly becoming available the job is his for next season.

Where's the HELL NO! option? 😀

2nd place and Scottish cup then yeah. I’m only saying second place because he didn’t have a full season to work towards 1st

Any team that plays football against us he doesn’t have a clue tactically how to combat it

Murty does not have to do anything more than what he is doing. Since he got the type of players we wanted in his record is brilliant. Only lost to Celtic and Hibs. If he keeps it up to the end of the season he should have first refusal on the job. Not even a debate IMO

As a man I really like Murty. Think he’s a thoroughly decent chap, but as the long term gaffer I’m just not convinced whatsoever. I’d love him to make me look like a fud, but a just can’t see it 👎🏼

We should appoint him but on a 12 month rolling contract
