'Laughable nonsense' - Rangers fans react to reported PL giants interest in Celtic star

Rangers fans have reacted with incredulity after Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney was linked with a mega-bucks move to Premier League giants Manchester United.

The Daily Record are reporting that Jose Mourinho is impressed with the Hoops star’s versatility and is considering the left-back as a replacement for Luke Shaw.

Celtic are “likely to want upwards of £20m” according to the report and Gers fans found the value attached to the Scotland international ridiculous.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

The Celtic defender has been a stand out for the Hoops over the last few seasons and has regularly been linked with moves to various clubs but nothing has ever materialised.

Tierney has been a constant feature in the Hoops starting XI this season and it’s unlikely the Glasgow giants are going to be prepared to sell him without a fight.

The 20-year-old has made 48 appearances this season, scoring four times and contributing nine assists, as the Hoops roar towards a seventh successive Scottish Premiership title and a historic back-to-back treble.

With Tierney able to play anywhere across the defence, his signing would give Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho a valuable player who can fill in in a number of positions.
