Rangers fans cannot make up their minds on Twitter after their club were reportedly eyeing a move for free agent Leon Osman.

The two-time England international has been without a club since his contract expired in the summer at Everton.

The Scottish Sun claim Osman has been identified as Rangers’ top target for the January transfer window, as the Gers look to replace veteran midfielder Joey Barton.

According to the report, the 35-year-old would be a perfect fit at Ibrox with midfielders Josh Windass, Niko Kranjcar and Jordan Rossiter struggling to return to fitness.

Some Rangers fans are desperate to see the 54-time Scottish champions sign the former Toffees stalwart, while some are unconvinced with the signing of the ex-Premier League star.

Mark Warburton’s assistant manager David Weir played with Osman during his time in Merseyside and the former defender could be used as the perfect persuasion to lure Osman.

Osman played 352 league games for Everton during almost two decades with the Blues, as well as loan spells with Carlisle United and Derby County during his time in the Premier League.

In other Rangers transfer news, Fulham are interested in making a £2million bid for defender Rob Kiernan.
