Rangers fans react on Twitter to Hyndman display against Hamilton

By Alex Stevens

Emerson Hyndman scored the opening goal in Rangers’ demolition of Hamilton on Saturday – and fans took to Twitter urging him to sign for the club permanently.

Goals from Hyndman, Clint Hill, Martyn Waghorn (penalty) and Lee Wallace helped the team to a convincing 4-0 Scottish Premiership in what was a memorable first match in charge for new manager Pedro Caixinha.

USA international Hyndman gave his side the platform for victory with the opener when he latched on to a James Tavernier cross after 26 minutes to score the first goal of the Caixinha era.

It was the fourth league goal in just nine appearances for the central midfielder as he continues to make a huge impact in his loan from Premier League club Bournemouth.

Hyndman has also added three assists in all competitions and supporters are desperate for the 20-year-old to clinch a permanent move to Ibrox.

The win provides a major boost to Rangers in their hopes of beating Aberdeen to the runners-up spot behind runaway leaders Celtic.

The Dons won 2-0 against Hearts earlier in the day, which means Rangers are still eight points adrift of second place despite increasing their own points haul to 50.

In other Rangers news, one of the club’s midfielders has agreed the terms of a mammoth new deal.
