Rangers fans have slammed attackers Martyn Waghorn and Barrie McKay on Twitter after the duo put in poor displays in the weekend’s win over Partick Thistle.

The Gers completed a comfortable 2-0 victory at Ibrox with goals from Kenny Miller and Jon Toral helping the side to three points with much of the team impressing at home.

However, both McKay and Waghorn were not awarded with praise during their time on the pitch.

Scotsman McKay was restricted to just 45 minutes on Saturday before being hauled off for Joe Dodoo at half time, while Waghorn saw an extra half an hour before being Joe Garner came on to replace him with 75 minutes on the clock.

Now, fans on social media were noticeably delighted to see the duo leave the field with one fan claiming they offered next to nothing, while another claimed they were both “honking.”

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Both McKay and Waghorn will be entering the final years of their contract in May, but many will believe that their current displays aren’t those of players looking for a new deal at the club.

With just six matches of the season left for the Gers both attackers will be hoping to impress as the Ibrox giants look for a second placed finish.
