Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to tear into striker Eduardo Herrera for his performance in the 2-0 win against Motherwell at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Herrera, 29, was handed just his second start in the Scottish Premiership by Graeme Murty ahead of kick-off, but did very little to show that he has what it takes to hold down a regular spot there.

Murty took the decision to rotate his squad a bid and decided that Josh Windass should sit out in place of Herrera ahead of Saturday's Old Firm clash against Celtic.

However the Mexican player failed to get anywhere near to having a decent impact against Motherwell as Danny Wilson and Alfredo Morelos' goals earned Murty's side all three points.

One disappointed supporter even said that Herrera was "garbage" against Stephen Robinson's men.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Herrera has found it difficult to settle into life at Rangers since he was signed by Pedro Caixinha in the summer from UNAM Pumas.

He has made 21 appearances across all competitions in Scotland but only managed to find the net two times and has not scored in the Scottish Premiership since August's 3-1 win over Partick.

Since then, the nine-times Mexico international has mainly been used as a substitute and has been well down the pecking order for strikers.
