Kieran Maguire hails 'amazing' Rangers figures as new commercial deal agreed
Rangers are competing with Premier League teams in the commercial stakes after securing a lucrative new shirt sponsorship deal.
That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after Rangers announced a new “multi-year” deal with 32Red.
Sport Business report that the deal is likely to be worth in the region of £1.5million per year.
The bookmaker’s logo has adorned Rangers’ jerseys since 2014, making it among the longest-standing front-of-shirt deals in British football.
Maguire lauded the agreement, observing that it is on a level with some top-flight teams’ deals south of the border.
“It’s good for all concerned,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“They sponsor quite a few clubs in both England and Scotland, 32Red. They have Derby and Preston as well.
“I think the issue with Rangers is trying to work out who a good benchmark is.
“This fee is more than most clubs in the Championship will be getting because they have the benefit of that big fanbase. Their volume of shirt sales is amazing.
“If 32Red are getting that exposure in the Champions League, it will be very good value for them.
“The lowest front-of-shirt sponsor deals in the Premier League tends to be around £1.5m.
“So for Rangers to get it to that level despite the Premier League getting much more attention than Scotland is impressive.”
Rangers’ success on the pitch in 2020-21 is mirrored in their commercial department.
The club secured 14 new partnerships throughout the season, taking their total to beyond 30.
