Rangers lead loan hunt to sign in-demand attacker from PL giants - reliable journalist
Rangers are at the front of the queue to sign attacker Ryan Kent from Premier League giants Liverpool, according to a reliable journalist.
Sun reporter Alan Nixon has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the 21-year-old looks set to depart Anfield on loan this summer.
It is understood the Gers are in pole position to land him ahead of English trio Leeds United, Blackburn Roves and Wigan Athletic.
Football Insider verdict:
Steven Gerrard is already making his mark on the Rangers squad this summer and midfielder Ovie Ejaria has already joined Ibrox on a temporary basis from Liverpool. The new Gers boss was expected to tap into his connections at Anfield at some point and it seems he could do so again to sign highly-rated winger Kent. Rangers could do with adding strength in depth to their squad and the Liverpool wide man could potentially do that. He has just one first-team appearance under his belt for the Merseyside giants, but has has a taste for senior football away with the likes of Barnsley, Bristol City and German outfit Freiburg. A stint under Gerrard at Ibrox could be just what is needed to get the best out of him and be a deal that works well for both Rangers and Liverpool. Kent is a fleet-footed attacker that has decent pace and trickery, which makes him an exciting signing and fairly risk-free on a temporary basis.
