Rangers-mad pundit scared by Celtic transfer plans after Boyle update
Alan Hutton has admitted he would hate to see Celtic sign Martin Boyle from Hibernian.
The former Gers defender and Rangers TV pundit, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 28-year-old is “always a thorn in the side” of his old side.
As reported by the Scottish Sun on Tuesday (11 January), Celtic are still in the hunt for the Australia international despite a £2million bid from Al-Faisaly.
Boyle is said to be furious Hibs prevented him from discussing a life-changing deal with the Saudi outfit.
As reported by the Times (6 January), Hibs are also braced for offers from Celtic, and an unnamed Abu Dhabi-based side.
Hutton admitted he would not mind if the Bhoys miss out on his capture.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Personally, I wouldn’t like him to go there because he’s always a thorn in the side of Rangers, to be quite honest with you.
“It doesn’t surprise me. He’s one who’s had interest from Abu Dhabi and Saudi, talking about a large hike in pay for him.
“That’s because of his performances and what he’s done in previous seasons. He’s got pace, he can finish, he can create. These are all things that teams want.
“It doesn’t surprise me Celtic are looking at him and further afield are also looking. That’s down to his hard work and dedication and what he gives week in, week out.”
Boyle signed a new contract at Hibs back in August that runs until 2024.
He scored a hat-trick against Rangers back in November – his only goals versus the Light Blues in 19 appearances.
