Rangers make contact over move for 23-year-old PL striker - report
By Dominic Toner
Rangers are interested in signing West Brom striker Sadio Berahino, according to a report.
The Sun claim that the Gers are plotting a move to sign the 23-year-old on a Bosman transfer as his current West Brom contract is set to expire in the summer.
The report details that Rangers officials have already made contact about a summer switch as he continues to struggle with the Premier League club.
It is understood that the Scottish giants would only have to pay around £500k for Berahino according to laws surrounding Bosman transfers as they are classed as an overseas club.
Berahino has struggled through injury this season and has made just five appearances across all competitions, but has a poor relationship at the club.

The striker has been questioned over his fitness and doesn’t appear to have a long-term future with the Baggies.
His most prolific spell at West Brom came in the 2014/15 season, when he scored 20 goals in 45 appearances.
Football Insider verdict:
Rangers could do with some extra firepower in attack and Berahino would be a considerable upgrade on the likes of Joe Garner, Kenny Miller and Martyn Waghorn. Berahino has proven that he can score goals in the Premier League and would be a serious threat in the Scottish Premiership. Mark Warburton is hopeful of competing with Old Firm rivals for the title and he will need to upgrade his squad to compete. Moussa Dembele has had a huge impact on Celtic, something that Berahino could certainly do at Rangers. The Gers could struggle though to convince him to sign and must hope that guaranteed first-team football will clinch the deal.
In other Rangers transfer news, the club should renew their interest in a proven goalscorer in January.
