Rangers will not make a kneejerk decision on the future of manager Philippe Clement after their poor start to the new season, sources have told Football Insider.

Clement also clashed with Rangers fans outside Ibrox when the team returned to their home stadium following the defeat at Parkhead, which leaves the Glasgow giants five points behind their Old Firm rivals.

The 50-year-old was handed a new contract with the Gers last month which runs until the summer of 2028.

Sources say the club's board are still "fully behind" the Belgian.

Rangers have since been dumped out of the Champions League at the first hurdle, losing on aggregate against Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round.

Rangers board not yet considering Clement sack

Clement lifted the Scottish League Cup with the Ibrox club in December 2023 but missed out on the Scottish Cup and Premiership to Celtic last term.

He has won 33 of his 50 games in charge of the Glasgow giants since being appointed in October 2023.

Rangers

Rangers will face Tottenham, Man United, Lyon, Olympiakos, Union Saint-Gilloise, Malmo, Steaua Bucharest and Nice in the Europa League - which starts later this month.

The Ibrox club will face Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership after the international break (15 September).
