Rangers could accept £15m Everton bid for Patterson after update - Kenny
Rangers would only consider selling Nathan Patterson to Everton if they receive a bid close to £15million.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 19-year-old right-back.
The Mirror reported on 22 August that Everton have submitted a £5m bid for the Scotland international.
The young defender signed a two-year extension on his current Ibrox deal in January that commits him to the club until 2024.
The Toffees have lost fellow young full-back Thiery Small on a free transfer to Southampton, as first revealed by Football Insider on 24 August.
It is understood they could receive £5m in compensation for the 17-year-old.
And Kenny insists that Everton should be willing to splash out far more than that figure on a proven player like Patterson.
“You’d have thought it would be double or triple that Everton offer,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“You think about to Thierry Small who’s gone to Southampton. They might get £5m for him, and he’s a 17-year-old kid.
“Patterson is obviously a brilliant, established Rangers right-back who plays for Scotland, who is proven.
“To offer the same sort of money doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t get it whatsoever.
“I’m sure they are going to let him go, it won’t be for that much. They’ll want a lot more than that.”
Patterson scored two goals in 14 appearances in his breakthrough season in 2020-21.
He has featured twice for Steven Gerrard’s side in the current campaign.
