New Rangers boss Michael Beale is plotting a January move for Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah, sources have told Football Insider.

Beale is a long-term admirer of Onomah, 25, and considered signing him during the summer when he was in charge of Queens Park Rangers.

The former Tottenham star is well down the pecking order at Fulham and has made just two brief cameo appearances off the bench in the Premier League this season.

Rangers

Rangers are plotting a January move for Onomah as they look to bring in a player whose contract expires at Fulham next summer.

A number of Championship clubs are also weighing up moves for the Spurs academy product in the upcoming window.

Onomah was on the verge of signing for West Brom on deadline day in the summer but the move collapsed at the eleventh hour.

His future remains up in the air going into the next window, with his game time severely restricted this season.

Onomah has made just two appearances for Fulham since their return to the Premier League, with manager Marco Silva preferring other options in midfield.

He played 22 times last season for the Cottagers, which included eight Championship starts as the Londoners secured automatic promotion.

Onomah has made 76 appearances for Fulham signing signing from Tottenham in the summer of 2019.

He has also had spells on loan at Aston Villa, where he was a regular for a full season, and Sheffield Wednesday.
