Rangers awaiting work permit for goal-a-game Colombian striker - report
By Danny Wright
Rangers have reached a preliminary agreement to sign Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, according to a report.
Finnish news outlet Ilta-Sanomat claims that Pedro Caixinha has become interested in the 20-year-old as he has averaged a goal-a-game with HJK Helsinki in the league this season.
It is understood that the Light Blues are awaiting Morelos to receive a work permit to grant him permission to play in the UK.
He has scored 12 goals in 12 league games for HJK in the Finnish top tier, which takes place throughout the summer months.
The Scottish Sun reports that Finnish Rangers coach Jonatan Johansson has recommended the Colombian Under-20 international to the Ibrox boss due to his exploits in the Veikkausliiga.

Morelos is also no stranger to the Europa League, having played six times and scoring four goals in the competition last summer as HJK failed to reach the group stages.
The Finnish giants mauled SJK 6-0 last week in a game which saw Morelos score twice and supplying three assists.
The Scottish Sun reports that HJK are “resigned to losing their star man” after a blistering start to the 2017 league season.
Morelos began his career with Independiente Medellin before moving to HJK originally on a loan deal last year before making the move permanent.
Football Insider Verdict
Finland’s top flight might not be the most prestigious breeding ground of talent, but a player like Morelos seems like he has a real eye for goal. Caixinha looks like he is making some really good progress in the transfer market this summer and signing a striker with 12 goals in 12 league games would definitely do enough to get the fans excited. This also proves that having a diverse coaching team might prove beneficial. No one at Ibrox might not have even heard of Morelos if it wasn’t for Johansson, who was one of Caixinha’s first hires in Glasgow. It could be an exciting year for Gers fans.
