Rangers could earn up to £40million if they win the Europa League final - and sponsors alone will pay out as much as £7m.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Ibrox club's sensational European campaign.

Rangers completed a 3-2 aggregate win over RB Leipzig on Thursday (5 May) to set up a meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt in the final in Seville.

The club trousered £10.7m in commercial income last season, according to their most recent set of accounts.

And Maguire claims that sponsors could come close to paying out that figure based on the Europa League final alone this year.

"You get £1.5m for participating in the Super Cup, which they will do if they win the trophy," he told Football Insider's Adam Williams.

"You will also get bonuses from sponsors. So that might take you to £6m or £7m. These figures are all significant.

"You then get an extra £30m from being in the Champions League next season, so overall we're talking about a £40m football match."

Rangers

It is only the second time in Rangers' history that they have reached the final of Europe's second club competition.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side also face Hearts in the final of the Scottish Cup on 21 May.
