Rangers table six-figure bid for dazzling playmaker, another offer expected in hours - report

Rangers have tabled a six-figure bid worth £300,000 for Hamilton midfielder Greg Docherty, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that the Accies were quick to reject the Light Blues’ offer, and are demanding that the Glasgow side double their bid to £600,000 in order for them to let Docherty, 21, leave.
It is understood that Graeme Murty has made signing the Scotland Under-21 international one of his top priorities for the January transfer window, so it remains to be seen whether Rangers meet Hamilton’s valuation of the playmaker.
The report adds that the Gers are expected to table another within the coming hours on Tuesday morning.
Docherty has been in dazzling form for Hamilton this season.
The central-midfielder has made 25 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and supplying six assists in the process.
Football Insider verdict
Docherty would be a brilliant addition for Rangers as Murty looks to continue improving his side. The way that this January window is shaping up should leave the Glasgow side in for a solid second half to the season. If all these players linked to Ibrox eventually make their way there, following Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings, Rangers should be nailed on to finish second in the Scottish Premiership. Murty’s main task for this month is still to be done though and that is to clear out the bulk of Pedro Caixinha’s flops. Eduardo Herrera, Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso are potentially ones who need to be shown the exit.
In other Rangers news, this international is expected to undergo a medical with the Gers on Tuesday.
