Rangers targeting 22-year-old to replace Kamara after Campbell reveal - pundit
Rangers may be targeting Joey Veerman as a replacement for Glen Kamara, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said interest in Veerman, 22, suggests Steven Gerrard’s side are braced for a midfield exit.
According to The Athletic‘s Jordan Campbell (July 17th), the Heerenveen midfielder is one of the Gers’ top targets this summer.
Veerman is said to want out of the Dutch club, where he has three years remaining on his contract.
Steven Gerrard already boasts Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis, Scott Arfield, Joe Aribo, Nnamdi Ofoborh and summer signing John Lundstram as centre-midfield options.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if a move for Veerman would likely be reliant on a midfield exit, Campbell said:

“Rangers are going to move and shake.
“Veerman may be seen as a replacement for Kamara. You have to have alternatives ready to come in if you lose one of your best players.
“There will be lots of demands on this squad next season. Steven Gerrard knows that.
“All of a sudden they have the target on their back and they also have Champions League football. It is going to be a lot harder this season.
“They need a big squad because there will be a lot of games for them as well. They need strength in depth because they will all be called upon.”
