Lee Hodson

The Northern Irish full back has been James Tavernier’s deputy for the last 12 months but the gulf between the two means Rangers are significantly weakened when Hodson is required to fill in.

Lacking Tavernier’s attacking impetus, Hodson regularly finds himself out of position throughout games and isn’t up to the necessary standard to challenge for a regular start.

Fans were crying out for more depth at full back over the summer and with Ryan Jack and Declan John both more than capable of filling in down either side, Hodson’s opportunities will be even further limited in the future.

In other Rangers news, the club made a last-gasp move to sign a £45,000-a-week striker who would have catapulted them to the league title.
