Kieran Maguire tips Rangers to fulfil 'big ambition' after seven-figure windfall confirmed

Rangers will use the £1.25million raised through a recent share issue to improve the on-site Edmiston House museum.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Scottish champions’ latest cash injection.

Documents posted to Companies House on Wednesday (5 January) show that Rangers have allotted nearly 5million shares at 25 pence each.

The Ibrox club announced a fan-led share offering in June and £4.5m was raised in total.

It is Rangers’ 150th anniversary this season and chiefs have marked the occasion with the construction of the Edmiston House project.

Maguire claims that the £1.25m boost is linked to the share offering in June and will be used to enhance the facility at Ibrox.

“Some of this money will go towards the operational activities of the club,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam William.

“I suspect that this is linked to the offer of shares to fans that took place a short while ago.

“The number of shares isn’t a clean number, like 4m or 5m. It’s actually 4.989776m.

“That would suggest that it is related to the number of shares sold by the share offering to fans.

“The club has said with that money the big ambition is to put it towards the on-site museum.”

The club also revealed that former chairman Dave King has relinquished another tranche of shares and is no longer a person of significant control.

Rangers are six points ahead of rivals Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership and are back in action against Aberdeen on 18 January.
