Football Insider verdict
Obviously you can never say never in football, and people won’t be happy until they see Connor Goldson at Ibrox with a Rangers scarf over his head, but it does seem like this long-running deal is finally set to be completed. Mark Allen and Steven Gerrard should be commended for looking to get as many deals done as quickly as possible as they look to hit the ground running at Ibrox this season. When the Goldson deal is completed, it will bring the number of new signings at Ibrox to six, and you would have to imagine that Gerrard isn’t finished looking for additions to his squad yet. Goldson himself must be very flattered that the Gers have been pursuing him for weeks, and he will be desperate to prove to his new manager that he was worth the time it has taken to get the deal done. As for the Gers fans, they will be delighted that the Gerrard revolution continues rolling on.
