Rangers to sack striker today and suspend defender teammate after bust-up with Murty - report
By Richard Parks
Rangers are to sack Kenny Miller today (Tuesday) after a furious dressing-room bust-up with manager Graeme Murty after the derby demolition by Celtic on Sunday, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claim the Glasgow giants are to immediately end the Ibrox career of striker Miller by paying up his contract in full and showing him the exit door.
It is said that Rangers chiefs will also suspend skipper Lee Wallace in the wake of the “rammy” with Murty immediately after the 4-0 defeat at Hampden Park.
The Scottish Sun report that Wallace, 30, is likely to have played his last game for the club even though he has a year remaining on his contract.
There will be an internal investigation into the skipper’s contract but he is teetering on the brink of the exit.

Suited Wallace, who was not in the matchday squad for the clash, is reported to have vented his anger towards Murty for the team’s poor performance against Celtic, who were 2-0 up early on and strolled to a 4-0 win as they booked a place in the Scottish Cup final.
Subsequently, Miller, 38, — an unused sub in the game — had his say as he also questioned the authority of the interim manager.
Murty was fuming at their conduct and has told the Rangers hierarchy that he wants them out of his squad for the final month of the season.
“The Ibrox hierarchy are raging with the behaviour of the club’s most senior player and club captain after Sunday’s defeat,” a source told the Scottish Sun.
“The powers-that-be believe the manager has been undermined and have decided to take action. They don’t think what happened in the dressing room is acceptable.”
Football Insider verdict:
The fall-out from the devastating defeat has taken a shock new turn by this report, which would end the stellar Ibrox careers of two of the club’s best players win what has been a miserable period in the club’s history. Neither have been key men this season and did not play in the horror show at Hampden, and each have been model professionals during their time at Rangers, but it appears they have crossed a line with their post-match conduct after the defeat to Celtic. Whatever was said and done, an immediate dismissal would be a terrible and humiliating way to end Miller’s third spell at Rangers, and would leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the player for ever more.
