Rangers could be ready to make a hefty profit on Youssef Chermiti in the ongoing transfer window.

The Portugal Under-21 international showed impressive qualities in the second half of the season at the Gers and is now being touted with a move away this summer.

With the 22-year-old ending the season as the Light Blues' top goalscorer, it would certainly be disappointing to see him leave after fans in G51 showed patience with him.

PSV Eindhoven reportedly have Chermiti on their radar and Andrew Cavenagh may sanction the deal for the right price, as was the case with Danny Rohl.

Red Bull Salzburg showed interest in the German manager and got him after paying a compensation fee despite the American owner backing him to stay a few weeks ago.

Cavenagh isn't afraid to make big decisions at the Govan side, and if the former Everton striker's sale makes financial sense, he certainly wouldn't hesitate to sanction it.

Youssef Chermiti transfer update emerges at Rangers

PSV are ready to take the next steps in their approach for Chermiti this summer, with the centre-forward on their transfer shortlist.

The Gers have told the Eredivisie champions that they will need to table a "double-digit number of millions" to get a deal over the line for the young attacker.

According to Dutch outlet ED via the Daily Record on 18 June, PSV have settled on Chermiti as their leading target for the number nine position, but are yet to accelerate a move as they assess their options.

An offer of around £25million is expected to prompt the Glaswegian outfit's chiefs to approve the forward's exit after spending £8m on him last summer.

Youssef Chermiti exit to give player lifeline at Ibrox

Sources told Football Insider in May that Bojan Miovski was looking for a way out of Rangers after Lawrence Shankland's arrival was confirmed.

The North Macedonia international was the third-choice number nine under Rohl after Ryan Naderi's signing and his prospects look bleak ahead of next season.

Only if Chermiti were to leave the Govan side in the coming weeks would Miovski potentially receive a lifeline to reignite his career under Derek McInnes.
