Bojan Miovski 'wants to leave Rangers' after dramatic social media post

Bojan Miovski is keen to leave Rangers after he announced he has parted ways with his agent following the transfer window.

The 27-year-old was heavily linked with a move away before the window closed last week, but failed to agree a deal, and later confirmed via social media that he is now without an agent.

He has fallen down the pecking order since Derek McInnes' arrival, and has featured just three times this term, having been left out of the squad for three of their five league geames.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Miovski is frustrated with his lack of playing time and could explore opportunities elsewhere.

Despite the transfer window having closed in the majority of European countries, it remains open in Portugal until 15 September, and in Saudi Arabia until 12 October.

It remains to be seen whether Miovski will seek a move away immediately or bide his time until the January transfer window, with an opportunity to impress McInnes still on the cards.

Could Bojan Miovski push to leave Rangers?

Football Insider reported back in May that Miovski could be forced out of Rangers as he has fallen down the pecking order following Lawrence Shankland's arrival.

The Ibrox club currently have five senior strikers on the books following the late arrival of Kevin Kelsy, although Shankland and Youssef Chermiti have both suffered injuries.

Miovski remains down the pecking order under McInnes, however, and having sacked his agent, is now believed to be seeking a move away.

"It looks like Bojan Miovski wants to leave Rangers," Brown told Football Insider.

"In my experience, players rarely sack their agents unless it is something transfer related, like if he didn't get a move he wanted, especially when it's done just after the window closed.

"It's an interesting one with Rangers, they have brought in a couple of new strikers and maybe that has pushed him down the pecking order.

"If he's not playing regularly, and there are other options who the manager prefers, then it would make sense for Miovski to seek a move away.

"Shankland has obviously picked up this injury now, and there might be a chance for Miovski to prove himself, but it depends whether he will be given that chance.

"If not, I expect he will be looking to move on, whether that's now to somewhere like Saudi Arabia, or if he waits until January."

Which clubs have shown an interest in Miovski?

Miovski was linked with a move away from Rangers during the January transfer window, with suitors having taken note of his potential availability.

Moves to the Liga Portugal or Saudi Pro League are some of the only remaining options if he wishes to move on immediately, but clubs could reignite their interest in January.

Football Insider reported in June that Miovski could have been given the opportunity to follow Danny Rohl to RB Salzburg following his exit from Ibrox in the summer.

After the Light Blues spent £2.6million to sign the centre-forward last summer, he failed to cement his place in the starting lineup, and that has continued this term.

However, the interest from Salzburg never materialised and no other clubs made a move before the window closed, seemingly leaving the player frustrated.
