Danny Rohl has perfect parting gift as RB Salzburg eye deal for Rangers boss
It has been revealed that RB Salzburg are pushing to appoint the Gers boss ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, who has a previous spell with twin club RB Leipzig.
He was a candidate for the RB Leipzig job long ago, and with Sazburg now in contact with the Light Blues, it would appear just a matter of time before a deal is reached.
Reaction the news is mixed, to say the least. Some supporters are distraught by the news, while others couldn't be happier to see the back of Rohl this summer.
Of course, the Gers have already begun their business in the summer window, signing Lawrence Shankland on a free transfer from Hearts, and more are likely to come.
Now, with Rohl expected to switch life in Scotland for Austria, Rangers could take full advantage of the newfound connection, all while keeping fans onside with the boss.
Rangers can reignite move for Damir Redzic
Due to the lack of funds in the Scottish Premiership, clubs often have to seek out bargain deals from lesser-known leagues, and Austria is the perfect example of that.
During the winter transfer window, the Gers had joined the race for Dunajska Strada star Damir Redzic, with quite a lot of interest emerging for the winger's signature.
RB Salzburg would eventually beat all other clubs to the signing of the now-23-year-old attacker, who has since notched just one goal contribution in 10 games.
Redzic was clearly being scouted by the Gers for a reason, having notched nine goals and an assist in Slovakia in 2025-26, and now they have the perfect chance to reignite their interest.
What should fans know about the RB Salzburg talent?
While Redzic is clearly more comfortable on the wing, he is capable of featuring as an out-and-out centre-forward, which would make him an attractive prospect at Ibrox.
He was signed for his lightning-quick pace, direct dribbling from wide areas, ability to cut inside, and also his pressing intensity, all likely to be huge factors in the Gers' interest.
Of course, Rangers weren't the only other club interested, with Olympiacos and FC Copenhagen joined by their Old Firm rivals, Celtic.
With Rohl now heading to Austria, supporters back at Ibrox will be hoping that this move rules out any chance of the Hoops doing business with RB Salzburg.
Otherwise, Rohl could quickly become a very hated figure in Scotland. Even now, he isn't the most favoured of people at Ibrox.
