Emmanuel Fernandez has messaged Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore amid talk of his return to Rangers.

Moore, 18, spent last season on loan at Ibrox and came alive in the second half of the campaign after struggling to adapt in his first few months.

The Gers are keen to bring the winger back to Scotland this summer, but a potential move will depend on Tottenham.

The North London club have a new manager in Roberto De Zerbi and are undertaking an overhaul following a torrid season, with Moore's involvement, or lack thereof, yet to be revealed.

Rangers also have a new manager in Derek McInnes, with the former Hearts boss arriving this week after Danny Rohl left for RB Salzburg.

Moore's best form came under the German and he was reportedly keen to work under him again, but it remains to be seen how McInnes approaches the situation.

Emmanuel Fernandez sends Mikey Moore message

There was plenty of excitement surrounding Moore when he arrived at Ibrox, and understandably so.

The winger had broken through into Tottenham's senior side at the age of just 17, scoring his first goal in the Europa League and making 10 Premier League appearances.

But the teenager's early weeks at Ibrox under Russell Martin were a struggle, as they were for many Rangers players.

Moore's first goal finally came in November and was against Dundee FC. Rohl had taken over by then and was producing consistent, good results.

Although the season ended in disappointment for Rangers, Moore's seven goals, including one against Celtic at Parkhead, saw him become a fan favourite among the Ibrox faithful.

The 18-year-old has admitted himself that he would like to return this summer, but he will await Tottenham's decision.

Moore is currently enjoying his break, and took to Instagram to share some pictures of his holidays. Rangers defender Fernandez commented on the post and wrote: "Lil boss".

Moore has already given away his wishes

Following the final game of the season, Moore took to Instagram to send a message to the Rangers fans.

"Whatever happens, I will now follow Rangers as a fan and wish every success for the football club," he wrote. "It was an honour every time I got to pull on the shirt, and I will forever be grateful for that."

By whatever happens, Gers fans largely concluded that the teenager is hoping that he will not have to wait long to return to Ibrox.

With talk of Tottenham spending big money this summer, too, it would be far from a surprise to see Moore holding up the Rangers shirt once more.
