Nicolas Raskin sends emotional message to Danny Rohl as he quits Rangers
Nicolas Raskin has thanked Danny Rohl on social media after he left Rangers to become Red Bull Salzburg's new manager
Rohl came under fire throughout last season at Rangers as they struggled to compete with Celtic and Hearts for the Premiership title.
His future at the club was called into question last week after reports emerged of interest in his services from Austrian club Salzburg.
Reports stated that Rohl was keen to take the job, and his Rangers exit was made official on Wednesday morning.
Raskin and Rohl did not always see eye to eye during their short stint together at Ibrox, but the Belgian midfielder has taken to Instagram to wish him well for the future.
Rangers announced Derek McInnes as Rohl's successor on Wednesday evening following his impressive spell in charge of Hearts.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Raskin, with ongoing rumours that he could follow Rohl out of the club before next season.

Raskin registered six goals and five assists in 35 appearances under Rohl last season, hitting top form with him at the helm.
Rumours of a potential fall-out between the pair emerged last month as the 25-year-old failed to appear in any of Rangers' last three games of the season.
An injury seemed to be the cause of his absence, but Raskin has since featured three times for Belgium before and during the World Cup.
He has, however, moved to put rumours of a rift to bed with a new message on his Instagram story following Rohl's exit.
Raskin posted a picture of the pair and wrote: "Thank you for everything gaffer. It's been a real pleasure to work with you," alongside blue heart and praying hands emojis.
What is the latest on Raskin's Rangers future?
Raskin's fine form for the Gers over recent seasons has seen him attract interest from several top European leagues.
Sources recently revealed to Football Insider that Rangers expect Raskin to leave the club this summer.
He is expected to command a lofty fee, but that price tag could rise even further with an impressive World Cup, especially after a decent cameo against Egypt on Monday.
New reports this week have claimed that Serie A side Atalanta are keen on the Belgian, but new boss McInnes may well look to keep him around for next season.
