Rangers could accept new Djeidi Gassama offer as bids already tabled

Rangers have not ruled out accepting an offer for Djeidi Gassama before the transfer window closes, sources close to the club have told Football Insider.

Serie A outfits Parma and Monza have already seen offers rejected by the Ibrox club, but could return with new bids in the coming days with Rangers still assessing his future.

The 22-year-old was a key part of Danny Rohl's side last season, but following his exit and the arrival of multiple new wingers, Derek McInnes could let him move on.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Rangers' pursuit of late summer signings could open the door for Gassama to move on.

While any deal will have to be on Rangers' terms, and they have already turned down offers both this summer and back in January, sources say there is a deal to be done.

Especially after missing out on qualifcation for European football, Rangers could allow Gassama to move on for the right price before the 3 September deadline.

Could Rangers accept new offers for Djeidi Gassama?

Football Insider revealed in May that Gassama was growing increasingly likely to leave Rangers this summer, following extensive interest during the mid-season window.

The 22-year-old has attracted interest from a number of top clubs across Europe in recent months, and was the subject of an eight-figure offer from Monaco in January.

Should that level of interest return before the transfer deadline, there is a growing feeling he could be allowed to move on, with Rangers not ruling out his sale.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Yeah, there are potentially still options for Gassama to leave Rangers before the end of the transfer window.

"There's obviously a lot of interest in the former Sheffield Wednesday man as well, interest from Parma and Monza who have both had offers rejected by Rangers for Gassama.

"Rangers are in the market for new wingers and attacking reinforcements, they've got a lot of options there now, so if a club makes a suitable offer for Gassama, they might be willing to sanction a move.

"I don't think Derek McInnes will want to weaken his options at this stage, but they could open the door for Gassama to leave Ibrox."

Which clubs are interested in signing Gassama?

Gassama has attracted interest from clubs across Europe as a result of his performances for Rangers in the last 12 months, and the news of his availability could inspire new suitors.

Monza and Parma have shown the highest level of interest so far this summer, while Ligue 1 outfit Monaco made a big-money offer earlier this year and could revisit a deal.

Football Insider revealed in May that Rangers have been expecting offers for Gassama, and are aware of the level of interest in his signature from European rivals.

There is also a belief that the winger could be tempted by an offer from a club in a top European league, while European football may also be on offer elsewhere.

Having now failed to qualify for the Europa League or Conference League, it may prove difficult for Rangers to turn down new approaches.
