Rangers are pushing to reunite Tuur Rommens with Westerlo right-back Bryan Reynolds in the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed that the Gers have already submitted a £2.2million offer for the USA international, which the Jupiler Pro League club has rejected.

The Light Blues have been unable to match the Belgian side's valuation of the American defender and they're unwilling to let him leave for the amount that has been tabled.

Rommens moved to Ibrox for £3m in the winter transfer window and it will be interesting to see how much Westerlo feel is appropriate for Reynolds' sale.

The 24-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at FC Dallas before moving to Roma in 202, but after struggling in the Italian capital, the right-back has found his feet at Westerlo.

In the previous campaign, the USMNT star scored two goals and provided four assists in 40 appearances for Westerlo, but isn't part of Mauricio Pochettino's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Rangers have clear Bryan Reynolds transfer expectation

Rommens has been a massive success at the Gers since signing in January and is surely going into the 2026-27 campaign as Danny Rohl's first choice at left-back.

The 23-year-old Belgium national immediately pipped Jayden Meghoma from the starting lineup after moving to Ibrox and became an instant hit among the fans.

According to Sacha Tavolieri on 10 June, the Light Blues have seen their initial approach for Reynolds thwarted, but the defender has given them the green light over a potential transfer should other clubs enter the race.

Rommens' success at the Govan side will undoubtedly lead them to hope that the USA international can have the same impact in G51 if they can get the deal over the line.

Danny Rohl 'knows what he wants' this summer as Rangers backed to explore under-rated transfer market

Danny Rohl has clear focus at Ibrox

Sources told Football Insider in May that Luke Graham was a leading target for Rangers after the Dundee centre-back's impressive performances in the William Hill Premiership.

With the Gers' intentions regarding the 22-year-old Scottish defender and now Reynolds, it looks like Rohl's first intention is to bolster the backline ahead of next season.

Considering the lack of options the German manager has at the back, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Glaswegian outfit focus on multiple defensive additions in the coming weeks before reinforcing other areas of the pitch.
