Neil McCann is now tasked with developing Bailey Rice, who has joined Kilmarnock from Rangers in the ongoing transfer window.

Findlay Curtis moved to BBSP Stadium Rugby Park in January and has come back to the Gers as a much better player, making the Scotland squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who only recently signed a new contract to extend his stay at the Light Blues, is set to compete for minutes at the Killies.

It goes to show that the Ibrox hierarchy trust McCann to do right by Rice after Curtis' success at Kilmarnock and they should consider sending Kyle Glasgow to Rugby Park as well.

The 16-year-old was one of the most highly sought-after talents in Europe before signing his first professional contract with the Glaswegian outfit in February.

With the start of pre-season under Derek McInnes around the corner, the young attacker is hoping to break into the first-team setup, and if he shows enough quality training with the senior group, the Govan side may think about sending him out on loan for some valuable experience.

Rangers may have next exit lined up after Bailey Rice transfer

Rice has become the first departure from the Gers this summer, with the Scottish midfielder spending the 2026-27 campaign on loan at Kilmarnock.

With McInnes walking through the door at Ibrox as Danny Rohl's replacement, many players will feel they could potentially have a chance to reignite their careers in Govan, but Bojan Miovski's prospects look bleak.

The North Macedonia international has surely fallen further down the pecking order after Lawrence Shankland's arrival at the Light Blues.

Ryan Naderi and Youssef Chermiti were ahead of the 27-year-old ex-Aberdeen striker under the German manager and it would be surprising to see McInnes giving him a chance unless one of the number nines leaves for a significant fee in the coming weeks.

Derek McInnes set to address major Ibrox priority

Multiple recent reports have suggested that Atalanta centre-back Ben Godfrey is set to join the Gers on loan as McInnes looks to bolster his backline.

Sources told Football Insider on 23 June that Rangers were preparing a formal offer for Luke Graham and would firm up their interest in the Dundee defender.

McInnes is light on central defensive options in Govan and the arrival of Godfrey and the 22-year-old Scottish ace would certainly plug a massive hole in the Glaswegian outfit's squad.
