Danny Rohl may soon be desperate for a Plan B should the latest news surrounding Youssef Chermiti turn out to be true.

The 22-year-old quickly became the Gers' first-choice striker following his £8million arrival from Everton, with last summer's move raising plenty of eyebrows.

Despite concerns over his ability, the young striker ended the campaign on 15 goals and five assists in 41 games, proving many, many supporters wrong.

Understandably, countless clubs from around Europe have staked an interest in the centre-forward's signature, and the transfer window has yet to even open.

Galatasaray latest to jump on Youssef Chermiti train

As well as PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord and Fenerbahce, Turkish journalist Sergen Dag (6 June) has revealed that Galatasary have now joined the race.

It is understood that a £25million fee is being demanded for the 22-year-old's signature, just 12 months on from Rangers signing him for £8million.

That kind of money could be huge for Rohl, especially if he is to turn the club around ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, with a desperate need for a squad overhaul.

It simply isn't an offer that can be turned down by the Scottish Premiership giants. He would shoot straight to the top of the Light Blues' record departures list.

What does this mean for Rangers' current strikeforce?

For Ryan Don Naderi, it should simply be a case of the back-up striker winning more game time next season, having now had time to aclimatise to Scottish football.

It is an entirely different story for Bojan Miovski, however, who has really struggled to stamp his mark on the team following his return to Scotland.

Football Insider understands that Miovski is eyeing a move away from Ibrox already, and he is likely even more desperate after Lawrence Shankland's arrival.

Shankland, 30, cannot be seen as a long-term solution to the Gers' centre-forward issues, though. He's only got a couple of good seasons left in him.

Chermiti could be a player for the future, but when these kinds of transfer fees are being thrown around, it is extremely difficult to turn down.

That money could be reinvested straight back into the market, with Rohl in desperate need of reinforcements this summer.
