Rangers must pull out all the stops to sign Bobby Clark as they accelerate their summer transfer window plans.

The 21-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Derby County this season as the Championship outfit narrowly missed out on the playoffs.

Now back at Red Bull Salzburg, he is expected to depart this summer, potentially for a price-cut fee.

Rangers have been linked with many midfielders this summer, but Clark will surely now become the priority after it was reported on X that Silas Andersen was on his way to Sporting CP.

The Hacken star had been eyed by the Gers for weeks, meaning that Danny Rohl will have to move on to other targets.

Rangers miss out on Silas Andersen

Andersen had been wanted by both Rangers and Celtic this summer transfer window.

However, a move to Ibrox looked increasingly unlikely, especially after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Now, ahead of his move to Sporting CP, Rangers will surely look to get the deal for Clark over the line.

Like Andersen, the former Liverpool star has plenty of potential and is coming off the back of an excellent season.

Competition for the 21-year-old is likely going to be high over the next few weeks, which is exactly why the Gers need to make a quick approach.

If not, Rangers risk losing out on yet another midfielder and being left behind in the transfer market.

Who else is chasing Bobby Clark?

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Derby County were interested in making Clark’s loan move a permanent this summer.

The East Midlands outfit are aware that their chances of securing the midfielder long-term are likely to hinge on his price tag, after a season that saw him notch three goals and three assists in the Championship.

Derby’s inability to reach the Premier League this season has no doubt hindered their chances of this happening after they missed out on the playoffs on the final day of the season.

Rangers have also reportedly accelerated their plans to acquire Clark this summer amid an intense battle for his signature.

However, it remains to be seen who will sign the Red Bull Salzburg star this summer, with plenty of twists and turns expected over the coming months.
