Rangers are already concerned about losing Emmanuel Fernandez on a record-breaking fee at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

The 24-year-old has only made 28 appearances since arriving from Peterborough United in the summer, but with six goals and several clean sheets, he's already made a huge splash at Ibrox.

His performances have quickly raised questions over John Souttar's future in Scotland, but the veteran could be saved due to the increasing interest in his defensive teammates ahead of the summer window.

Fernandez is now expected to leave Rangers, just 12 months after joining, but he could depart on a record fee, especially after being rewarded for his performances north of the border.

Emmanuel Fernandez included in PFA's Premiership Team of the Season

Football Insider understands that Rangers intend to turn down offers for Fernandez, but that might be easier said than done, given some of the figures being thrown around outside of Ibrox.

Clubs from around Europe are keeping tabs on the centre-half's situation, and after earning his international debut with Nigeria, the Gers are going to face a struggle to keep him.

Danny Rohl, undoubtedly, would want to keep the ex-League One talent ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. With the low rate of expensive outgoings, however, the board may have no choice but to cash in.

His inclusion in the PFA Scotland Premiership Team of the Year is only going to put more zeroes on his current valuation, likely blowing Calvin Bassey's £20million exit in 2023 out of the water.

Which clubs are already interested in the Rangers starlet?

It is hardly a surprise to see an increasing interest in the centre-back, with the former Peterborough man proving himself at a decent level just months after arriving in a new environment.

Arsenal are among the teams eyeing Fernandez ahead of the summer, and given his prowess at set-pieces, there is one clear reason as to why Mikel Arteta's side have joined the race.

Nuno Espirito Santo's West Ham are also involved, and with the news that Konstantinos Mavropanos is likely to depart the London Stadium in a few weeks, that could be one position very quickly solved.

Whichever club wins the race for his signature, they will have to offer a stunning amount of money, especially for a player who was featuring in League One just last season.
