Hearts sensation Claudio Braga has emerged as the latest Rangers transfer target this summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old is high on Rangers’ shortlist as they continue to aim to strengthen their front line.

The attacker caused havoc in the Scottish Premiership last season, which saw him land the Player of the Season Award.

One of his best goals came against Rangers at Ibrox when he put Hearts back in front during their eventual 4-2 defeat.

Braga rose highest to direct a wonderful header into the back of the net to put the Jambos 2-1 in front.

James McFadden, who was commentating on the game, was in awe of the goal.

James McFadden: Claudio Braga scored a tremendous header vs Rangers

At the time, Rangers’ home match against Hearts in February was viewed as a crucial game in the title battle.

While the Gers eventually passed the test, the Jambos were still able to show the country how good some of their players were.

Braga’s goal was one of the best in the game as he managed to somehow head the ball into the net from a difficult position.

Commentating on Sky Sports on 15 February, McFadden said: "That's an outstanding header. It's all about Braga. Tremendous header.

"Souttar has to take control of the situation better.

"What a game we have here today!"

As a result, this is a clear indication of why Rangers should seal the transfer, with Braga capable of scoring goals out of nothing in big moments in big matches.

Rangers signing Braga would make them title favourites

If Rangers can get a deal for Braga over the line, it would no doubt make them title favourites for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.

The Gers are arguably already many people’s favourites to win the league, given Celtic’s disastrous transfer window to date.

However, if they were to secure the signing of Braga, it would be a massive statement and would easily give them the best frontline in the division.

One sticky point for Rangers could be Hearts’ asking price, as the club is unlikely to want to lose yet another star player before the campaign begins next week.

Nevertheless, if the Gers have the funds to spare, they must make a move, as having a player like Braga in your squad could easily define the title race in Scotland this upcoming season.
