Rangers fans are extremely concerned about the £6million swap deal that will land their club Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur.

As exclusively revealed by Football Insider early on Monday, the 26-year-old is making the move to Ibrox, with Jack Butland going the other way for £3m.

It is expected that Pandur will become Derek McInnes’ first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

However, many Rangers fans are not convinced this is a good deal for the club this summer.

Huge questions are being asked of Pandur’s ability, especially as the club is effectively giving Hull £3m plus Butland for the goalkeeper.

This is despite the 26-year-old playing a key role in the Tigers’ promotion last season as they won the Championship playoffs.

Rangers fans question value of Ivor Pandur deal

While Rangers have been praised for their business so far this summer, the deal to sign Pandur has been controversial.

Despite Hull’s promotion last season, the goalkeeper was prone to inconsistent displays, which almost led to the club bottling the playoffs.

Therefore, eyebrows have been raised after Sky Sports Scotland reported that the Gers would pay £6m to bring in the 26-year-old this summer transfer window.

As a result, many Rangers fans have taken to X to express their disapproval of the signing, believing that not only is the suggested fee too much, but that the goalkeeper is simply not good enough to be at Rangers next season.

How good is Pandur?

According to Fotmob on 29 June, Pandur really did not have a bad 2025-26 campaign.

While the goalkeeper did have some poor games, which went on to cost Hull City. Overall, he was very solid and produced plenty of good stats.

Across the season in the Championship, he was averaging 3.20 saves, a 68.9 save percentage, 1.44 goals conceded, 0.08 goals prevented and 0.04 errors that have led to goals per 90 minutes.

If these stats can be replicated in the Scottish Premiership, there is no doubt that Pandur would win Rangers points and therefore victories over the coming season.

However, it remains to be seen if the goalkeeper can be a success at the Old Firm club if the deal does go through over the coming days.
