Rangers fans convinced Cammy Devlin will follow Derek McInnes to Ibrox after talks 'open'
Rangers fans are convinced Hearts’ star man Cammy Devlin will be Derek McInnes first signing at Ibrox after talks opened over a potential appointment.
The Jambos manager is reportedly set for talks with the Gers amid Danny Rohl’s expected departure to Red Bull Salzburg.
Hearts are not set to stand in McInnes’ way despite the manager being within 90 minutes of the Scottish Premiership title this season.
However, Rangers supporters are convinced that Devlin will follow McInnes into Ibrox, with the midfielder currently out-of-contract.
The 28-year-old currently has offers on the table from numerous clubs, as well as an improved deal with the Edinburgh club, as he weighs up his options while away with Australia for the 2026 World Cup.
The Old Firm club have already brought in Hearts’ captain Lawrence Shankland since the 2025-26 campaign’s end, and now more faces could follow him.
Rangers fans believe Cammy Devlin will be their next signing
Devlin had an excellent campaign with Hearts this season as the club narrowly missed out on their first top-flight title since 1960.
Overall, he made 28 appearances in the Scottish Premiership and was voted as the Fans’ Player of the Season at the Jambos.
However, with McInnes increasingly likely to make the switch to Ibrox in the coming weeks with the Daily Record reporting talks could now take place, Rangers fans believe that the 54-year-old will be able to convince the Australia international to follow him to the club.
Many took to X, insisting that Devlin will likely be McInnes’ first signing at Rangers this summer transfer window.
How good is Devlin?
According to Fotmob on 13 June, Devlin had an excellent 2025-26 season at Hearts.
The midfielder was averaging 0.08 goals, a 86.4 per cent passing completion, 8.51 duels won, 2.86 fouls won, 4.25 tackles and 7.04 recoveries per 90 minutes in the Scottish Premiership this season.
If these stats can be replicated, there is no doubt that he can be a massive asset for Rangers next season and could help the league title return to Ibrox.
However, it remains to be seen if McInnes will target the midfielder if he is appointed as their new manager this summer, as they look to finally end their ongoing trophy drought.
