Rangers must beat Celtic to priority signing after what Ryan Naderi did vs Dundee United

Rangers have to ensure that they beat Celtic to the signing of Fares Ghedjemis this summer as Ryan Naderi’s awful form continued against Dundee United.

Derek McInnes’ side were held to a 1-1 draw in the opening match of their Scottish Premiership 2026-27 campaign in what was a disappointing display.

Ryan Naderi continues to underperform for Rangers

Naderi has done little since arriving at Rangers in the winter window, and there were no signs this would change on Friday.

According to Fotmob, the attacker only completed six passes, had two shots, created two chances, was dispossessed once, was dribbled past once, lost five out of nine aerial duels and only created a combined xA and xG of 0.34.

If Rangers want to win the league this season, this area of the pitch is clearly in need of improvement, and Ghedjemis would be an obvious upgrade.

Last season, in the Serie B, he averaged 0.45 goals, a 0.30 xG, 3.16 shots, 1.10 shots on target, 0.09 assists, a 0.17 xA and 1.64 chances created per 90 minutes.

Therefore, with the right winger being a clear upgrade, Rangers must make a move for the 23-year-old and make him their transfer priority before another club swoops in.
