Rangers are among a number of British keeping tabs on FC Zurich striker Philippe Keny, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old quickly made his mark in the league where he already has 12 goals in 25 appearances and has captained his side in three of their last four league games.

Keny attracted strong interest during the mid-season window, with clubs from France, Belgium and the English Championship having made moves for him.

The Senegal international is now expected to command a price tag between £4million and £6million, with his current contract set to run until 2028.

A number of British clubs are now preparing to make moves for the six-foot-two striker in the summer after he has proved himself as a key player and leader at Zurich.

Coventry and Wrexham also in race to sign Philippe Keny

Football Insider revealed on 16 February that Bojan Miovski could leave Rangers this summer, in a move which would open the door to signing a new centre-forward.

Keny has now emerged as a leading candidate for the Ibrox club, who have joined rivals from England in keeping tabs on his performances in Switzerland.

Championship duo Coventry and Wrexham, both of whom are targeting promotion to the Premier League, are also considering stepping up their interest.

Frank Lampard's side currently lead the league and are on course for promotion, and are in a strong position to offer top-flight to the in-demand striker.

Wrexham, meanwhile, are keen to continue their ambitious plans as they fight for a playoff place, and could make Keny part of those ambitions.

Could Rangers sell strikers before they buy?

Misovski is not the only forward being linked with a move away from Ibrox as the club aim to strengthen their attacking options, with doubts also surrounding Youssef Chermiti.

Former Aberdeen CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Rangers could cash in on Chermiti if the right offer arrives, despite having no plans to rush him out.

Danny Rohl has struggled with his strikers this season and has so far failed to find a consistent source of goals, with new arrival Ryan Naderi also struggling.

Keny is one of a number of forwards on their list of potential targets should they opt to strengthen in his position, with his performances for Zurich impressing scouts.

However, there is a feeling that Rangers may be forced to cash in on one of their current options to clear space in the squad for a new arrival.
