Rangers will push their asking price for Nicolas Raskin up towards the £25million mark, sources have told Football Insider

The Light Blues had previously been demanding £20m to allow the 25-year-old to leave the club this summer, but are now ready to up that valuation amid significant interest from across Europe.

Hull City are keen to take the midfielder to the Premier League, while there is also strong interest from both Real Betis and Bologna.

Sources say that Rangers are hoping for a “bidding war” between the clubs, with Raskin now into the final two years of his contract at Ibrox.

Derek McInnes and Co. remain reluctant to lose their star man, but are hoping that they can secure a premium deal if his exit becomes inevitable.

Raskin notched six goals and seven assists in the Scottish Premiership last term, and has been linked with a whole host of potential suitors in recent months.

Rangers expecting further spike in Nicolas Raskin interest

Raskin’s form for Rangers in recent seasons has also seen him force his way onto the international scene with Belgium.

The former Standard Liege man has been a key cog in their World Cup campaign so far, having started one of their three group games and made substitute appearances in their other two clashes.

He also notched an assist in the 5-1 victory over New Zealand, and is likely to play a big role in the knockout stages of the competition.

Rangers are anticipating that Raskin’s involvement on the world stage could prompt interest in his services to spike even more after the tournament, given the number of clubs who are paying close attention to developments in North America.

His future has been a major topic of discussion at Ibrox across the last two windows, but with his contract now into its final two years, the club are approaching the stage where a definitive call must be made.

Hull City 'confident' of signing Nicolas Raskin after another Rangers deal agreed

Hull City ‘confident’ of striking Raskin deal

Former Hull defender Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that his former club are “confident” that they will be able to land Raskin this summer.

He made it clear that the Tigers are aware that they need to be ambitious after their promotion to the Premier League, but also cannot compete in the same markets as other sides in the league.

Brown noted that a move for Raskin could be a very shrewd option for the East Yorkshire outfit, and added that Rangers may struggle to convince him to turn down the chance to impress in the Premier League.

Hull have money to spend after winning the Championship play-off final, and Brown feels that Raskin would not require a major financial commitment.
