Rangnick could make 'big statement' at Man United after Pogba update via Sky - pundit
Paul Pogba is on the brink of leaving Man United.
That is the view of 2000 European Golden Shoe winner Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old’s future after Ralf Rangnick’s recent comments.
Speaking to Sky Sports (11 December) Rangnick suggested he would not try to change Pogba‘s mind if he doesn’t want to stay and sign new terms.
United’s interim boss insisted he only wants players who “want to stay and play for the club.”
Pogba has just six months left on his contract at Old Trafford.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Pogba’s situation, Phillips said: “It sounds like Pogba is going to be out the door.

“Reading between the lines, that looks like what Rangnick is hinting at without actually saying it. The club is bigger than any player, as we know.
“I think Pogba will leave in the summer. It would not surprise me if he went in January either, in all honesty. That way they can free up room on the wage bill for players who will come in and give it their all for United for three or four years.
“When manager’s come in they have to make big statements and big decisions. Rangnick does not look like a manager who will mind doing that.
“It will be interesting to see if there is movement on that in January. If it isn’t in January I’m sure it’ll be in the summer.”
