Real Madrid will plot a move for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino should Zinedine Zindane leave his post at the Bernabeu in the future, according to a report.

The Sun claims that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has made Pochettino his No 1 choice to be the next Bernabeu manager, although he has made it clear that he is not prepared to let Zidane leave any time soon.

However it is understood that the La Liga champions fear that the French legend may decide to “call it a day” in the future, therefore they are planning on who will take the reigns from him when he does eventually pack his bags.

The report says that Pochettino impressed Real Madrid’s chiefs in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with the Spanish side in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Pochettino isn’t the only Tottenham man that Madrid are currently looking as at it was reported by Spanish news outlet Don Balon that they are plotting a £177milliion move for striker Harry Kane next summer.

Tottenham have a number of key members of the club that have played huge parts in their rise to the top in recent seasons. Kane and Delle Alli have played a major role, however none more so that Pochettino. Daniel Levy must do everything he can to keep the Argentine at the club – he is simply indispensable and irreplaceable. However Real Madrid are the biggest and best club in the world, as they have shown on many occasions in recent years. They are also one of the richest and that sort of pull may make Pochettino twitchy in his hot-seat in North London. Levy must remind the ex-Southampton boss of just how much of an exciting time it is to be at Tottenham at the moment. Also a pay rise probably wouldn’t go amiss.
